The available models are certified Ex II 2 G Ex d II C T6 Gb and Ex II 2 D Ex tb III C T85°C Db IP6X according to CENELEC.

The prestigious Belgian institute ISSeP of Liege provided Elcis with the latest certifications ATEX II 2 G Ex d II C T6 Gb and  ATEX II 2 D Ex tb III C T85°C Db IP6X, according to CENELEC rules and CESI provided the Product Quality Assurance Notification.
This absolute encoder series is suitable for use on working environments with explosive atmosphere  (except for mines with grisł) due to gas (G) and/or dust (D).
The available models are extremely sturdy; they are made in turned from rod metal with precision bearings and stainless steel shaft.
On request these encoders can be completely stainless steel.
